This game looks so sick
are there any tutorials showing how to implement this is Gadot?
I'm a little late to the party, but I would add an option that toggles on/off health bars. The user can decide for themselves
I dont wanna hear anyone saying its easy making a game
Making games is soo complicated and now that I am making one myself I have so much respect for developers
That's why I'm making a DirectX 11 course. Because D11 is easier and set the fundation for the D12.
or remove the diagonal walk feature 😂
bruh, i am not looking at math
ROTATING PIXELS
which game engine are you using?
Very good job on the game feel, you can feel the danger/power of each attack of this boss
6:24 dunno if u implemnted this, but i think itd be neat having the boss spawn a bunch of these flowers, only for it to be secretly one of them and come out from the ground toward the player
Didn't know I was gonna learn the Pythagorean theorem today
Which game engine do you use in your game?? ❤❤❤❤
Spell idea if you've not figured out how to handle it yet - Have different spells of different strengths (or different strengthed versions of each spell), have the player assign which spells they want active, one per spell strength slot, and then during combat when they cast have them deplete their entire bar and cast whatever the most powerful spell they have active is. Kind of like how IIRC Monster Rancher handled its combat system back in the day (just with doing regular attacks charging the meter rather than time), making the fundamental choice being 'weaker spells more often or more powerful spells less frequently'.
Hi Challacade ! Love to see how far you went since the first video of receating zelda ! I would like to know : Are you still using windfield as library for collision handling at this point of your game ?
Ooook so this vid was a waste of time. You just pointed out a problem and said your game deals with it. We learned nothing.
Such a peaceful effect, incredible!
I think the fixed background can make objects seem very far, so it may be good for depicting celestial objects like the moon and sun, which are basically still in real life anyway.
That's why I'm always wondering why am I going too fast when crossing the road diagonally
For me the hardest part of game development is the planning. It's knowing what to build next. Level design is a big part of that. I'm making a story-based game so everything needs to tie into the story, including the level design. I can't make any progress until I know the story in-depth. And yet it's difficult to fully construct the story without anything visual. If I change any part of the story, it can have a huge impact on the level design, characters, everything.
You're not even close, the hardest is remembering to cleanup test logs. I like to open some indie games on bluestack to have the console and most of the times they forget the logs, some are very funny and relatable : "Here!" "Spawning the f****** ghost"
I hate this trend with pixelated games. In the past it was due to hardware limitations and CRT monitors produce images completely different. Also pixelated graphics were different because they use the way CRT monitor works.
sometimes i wonder how some people's brains think of these stuff and mine cant
Would look so great during a night cycles maybe with mini lights on the trees or near the pond (fureflies) 😮
Game name...i wana play
This look amazing! Keep up the good work :)
It looks very good! But how's this in terms of performance, when you have so many grass sprites like in the video?
Played through the demo on Steam mate and it has to be said, what a game you're building. Hardest boss fight by far was the cloudy domain lightning-ball-lady, I must've been at it for an hour! After several back to back defeats on that boss fight, I experienced one game crash (playing on mac) but other than that it was a very smooth experience. I enjoyed the element of exploring = rewards. Finding my flotation device after going back into the cave and getting to that final boss fight was amazing. Felt like a healthy amount of exploration without feeling incredibly lost and wanting to put the game down. Can't wait for future updates. P.S. Downloaded in my steam library and wish listed for 2025 release! Keep up the good work.
Nothing in the universe is actually random. Maybe only quantum theory but even that might not be true.
Played the demo of your game. It was so fun its not even real. I want to make something similar, but mine will be some dark fantasy, cuz scary monsters are cool.
DRAW ORDER = Z ORDER. Nice tutorial.
Where i can download? 🥰🥰🥰 i love this style of pixelart
You displayed a different spritesheet for the yellow character and i hope i'm wrong : but one character is enough and the shaders can change the sprite colors. But yeah shaders + sprite composite are the indie dev secret weapon for assets coast reduction
Thanks for making this!
Need to save this for my game!
There are AAA games that even have this problem 😂 your a champ
Mac support doesnt work
now i have 10 years of experience in Lua, thanks man!
hope i get to use what u teached. thanks!
update 7 months later that still looks like a 2-way platform (as in being able to jump onto and fall off of it)
:0 you're a Godot C# coder?! So you cant export to web
love your game but steam is banned in my country
You are a genius, and I love you.
My brain😂
Y-Sorting!
scott cawthon should take notes lmao
Instead of iterative circulars towards the player you can use a ShapeCast. It’s designed for that purpose and optimized for it (much more efficient).
what is the suitable age to take this course?
